Fast vs Forward

Everyone’s busy being busy. Packed calendar, full inbox, to-do list a mile long.

The weeks fly by and you wonder if you're making any progress. You must be—you’re going as fast as you can, right?

But speed isn't a measure of efficiency or effectiveness, it’s just how fast you’re moving. You can be running flat out in a circle and still end up where you started.

High speed, high effort, but zero velocity.

That’s the difference. Velocity is speed with direction.

Which means it requires more than effort. It needs purpose, a destination, a reason to move—and keep moving—forward.

It sounds obvious, but we’re often too busy chasing our tails to stop, look up, and ask: where are we going?

Velocity isn't about doing more, it’s about doing what moves you closer to your goal.
